MissionAssist Supports Workplace Chaplaincy Charity -Small Grant - Large Impact

MissionAssist Awards £600 Grant to Support Workplace Chaplaincy in the North East

Northumbrian Industrial Mission Ltd (NIM) is delighted to announce that it has received a grant of £600 from MissionAssist to support the development of a new e-learning project for workplace chaplains across the North East of England.

The funding will contribute to the pilot phase of Equipped for the Workplace: E-Learning for Workplace Chaplains, a course designed to train and support those offering Christian pastoral care in industrial and commercial settings. The project responds to the growing and changing demands faced by chaplains in post-pandemic workplaces, where issues of mental health, ethical decision-making, and interfaith sensitivity are increasingly present.

The grant will fund hosting and licensing costs for the learning platform, the design of accessible course materials, and the production of a pilot learning module including video content and guided reflection resources. The course is expected to support 10–12 chaplains initially, with long-term benefits as the materials are developed and reused in future training.

Chaplains are encountering increasingly complex pastoral and ethical challenges, and this project will help equip them with practical tools, confidence, and theological grounding for their ministry.
